Pilcher at her best This is Rosamunde Pilcher at her very best! Her character development is wonderfully done. I’ve reread this book several times since its publication years ago. It never is dated or grows stale. I believe it topped the best seller list for weeks when it was first published . I ordered this copy because the hardcover one I had fell apart. It is pure magic! It doesn’t matter which genre you like, this book is well worth your time.

Worth re-reading I have read all of Rosamunde’s books and love them all. I first read this about 10 yrs ago and decided to read again. I wasn’t disappointed, in fact, I liked it even more this time. I know that a film was made from it and I know that they changed a few things in the story, so it was interesting to find out that a few things that I thought I remembered weren’t actually in the book, but were probably remembered from the movie. This one is my third favorite of her books…my favorite is Winter Solstice, and 2nd is September, but you should read Shell Seekers before September, simply because one minor character from Shell Seekers shows up in September.
